Wills Point is 0-4 against Caddo Mills since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wills Point Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Caddo Mills Foxes at 7:00 p.m. Caddo Mills took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wills Point, who comes in off a win.
After only seven points in their last game, Wills Point made sure to put some points up on the board against Ford on Friday. Wills Point came out on top against Ford by a score of 39-29.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wills Point to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jett Fletcher, who rushed for 133 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 92 yards and a touchdown. Fletcher was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Larandion Dowden was another key contributor, rushing for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Caddo Mills' good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by Sunnyvale 45-14. While losing is never fun, Caddo Mills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 516th, while Sunnyvale is ranked 255th).
Although Caddo Mills took the loss, they still got scores from Alfonzo Gonzales and Josh Ivey.
Wills Point has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Caddo Mills, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Wills Point was taken down by Caddo Mills 41-12 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Wills Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
