Baseball Recap: Paw Paw Has No Trouble Against Dowagiac

Ten must be Paw Paw's lucky number: they beat Dowagiac with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Red Wolves put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Wolves, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ryan Holmes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Holmes was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maverick Johnson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gunnar Goodell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

The win made it two in a row for Paw Paw and bumps their season record up to 22-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Dowagiac, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.
