Terre Haute South Vigo proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by nine) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Covington Trojans 6-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Braves, who have now won six games in a row.

Austin Semmler looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aj Overton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Matthew Ewing also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Terre Haute South Vigo now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Covington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Terre Haute South Vigo will venture away from home to challenge Clay City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington, they will welcome Oakwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
