The North Canyon Rattlers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 40-6 loss at the hands of West Point. North Canyon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.
Leading West Point to victory were Isaiah Smith and Anthony Lopes. Smith rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown, while Lopes rushed for 31 yards and two touchdowns.
West Point's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 12 times. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
North Canyon's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 5.0 points per game. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Paradise Valley is ranked 127th, while West Point is ranked 134th).
