Meanwhile, Wellpinit entered their tilt with Odessa with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Wellpinit came out on top against Odessa by a score of 56-45 on Saturday. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but Wellpinit was the better team in the second half.
Wellpinit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kipri Denison led the charge by scoring 26 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Denison has scored all season. Danea Norman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Wilbur-Creston-Keller's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Wellpinit, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Wilbur-Creston-Keller strolled past Wellpinit when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 73-56. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Norman, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Wilbur-Creston-Keller still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
