Volleyball Recap: Springfield Starts Season with Win Against Lanphier

Springfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lanphier Lions on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Senators, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Springfield easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17.

Rachel Becker paced Springfield's offense, picking up nine kills. Becker got some help from Addi Maddox and her seven assists. Lucy Ambrose controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Springfield will take on Triad at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lanphier, they will square off against Calvary at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
