Allen had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They steamrollered Cedar Bluffs 70-6. That result is just more of the same for Allen, who also won the last time these teams played.
Allen's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 32 points in the first half. Cedar Bluffs came up with 6 to put the score at 32-6. The offense for Allen continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 38 points.
Senior Kyle Smith, who rushed for 227 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. In fact, with 12 tackles Jones was a force on both sides of the ball. Sophomore Anthony Isom was in the mix, too, providing Allen with with 2 touchdowns. This was the first game for both teams, giving Allen a 1-0 record and starting Cedar Bluffs off at 0-1.
