Softball Recap: Jefferson Wins Going Away Against West Adams

Jefferson won the last time they faced West Adams and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Democrats put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-4 win. The Democrats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

Melanie Garcia was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Melanie Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Jefferson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Adams, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Jefferson will head out to face off against Narbonne at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Adams, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Manual Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
