The Alton Redbirds will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Belleville West Maroons at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Alton's favor as the squad sits on 26 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Maroons have been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Alton faced the Panthers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Alton snuck past the Panthers with a 52-47 victory.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Belleville West, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-34 loss to the Lancers on Tuesday.
Alton's victory bumped their record up to 25-1. As for Belleville West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Alton against the Maroons in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 91-21 victory. Will Alton repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
