The Seminole Chieftains will challenge the Perkins-Tryon Demons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seminole will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
On Friday, Seminole didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bristow, but they still walked away with a 28-24 win. The 28-point effort marked the Chieftains' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

09/26/25 vs Lone Grove | 122 |

Donavin Garfield had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 359 yards and four TDs while completing 72.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 108 yards. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 rushing yards. Seminole's leading receiver Jay Ladd was Garfield's top target yet again, picking up 136 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Seminole didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mason Bennett and Garfield.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perkins-Tryon, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 63-6 victory over Mannford. The win continues a trend for the Demons in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won seven in a row.
Seminole better keep an eye on Wyatt Atkinson. He was instrumental in Perkins-Tryon's win, rushing for 187 yards and three scores while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. Atkinson didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss). Another player making a difference was Westin Atkinson, who picked up 124 receiving yards and three TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Perkins-Tryon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Perkins-Tryon's defense and their four sacks. Mannford's QB won't forget Jerrett Gibson anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Perkins-Tryon received some extra help from Travien Tillis, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Perkins-Tryon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Seminole, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Seminole has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 165 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Perkins-Tryon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 246.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Seminole was taken down by Perkins-Tryon 52-8 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Demons' Raiden McLemore, who rushed for 184 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Now that the Chieftains know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
