The Warwick Wildcats lost against the Cornwall Central Dragons back in April of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Warwick was dealt a 46-6 loss at the hands of Cornwall Central. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Warwick in their matchups with Cornwall Central: they've now lost four in a row.
Wils Siebert threw for 73 yards on eight of 19 attempts. Luca Siebert was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards. On the ground, Elijah Fiol rushed for 26 yards.
Tyler Vanderpool was his usual excellent self, rushing for 324 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Vanderpool was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Warwick to a paltry 130 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Cornwall Central's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Warwick's QB won't forget Jayden Scott anytime soon given Scott sacked him four times.
Warwick's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cornwall Central, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Warwick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cornwall Central will face off against Our Lady of Lourdes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of Lourdes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Cornwall Central is ranked 41st).
