Cassopolis has gone a perfect 4-0 against Bangor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rangers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m.
Cassopolis fell victim to New Buffalo and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Bison. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rangers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile, Bangor waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Bengals 12-2. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly ten runs.
Terrance Payne made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bangor is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 13-14 otherwise. Payne was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Julian Pullins was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Bangor: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 9-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Webb, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Bangor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ottawa Hills only posted an OBP of .385.
Bangor's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-15. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cassopolis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Everything went Cassopolis' way against Bangor in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Cassopolis made off with a 14-1 win. Do the Rangers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
