The MacArthur Generals had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-10 win over Bloomington on the road. The result was nothing new for MacArthur, who have now won four games by 44 points or more so far this season.
Despite the loss, Bloomington still got an impressive performance from Mikey Kimmell, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Even if they lost, Bloomington's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Carter Jackson and his two sacks.
MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Bloomington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. MacArthur will take on Metamora at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Metamora is ranked 95th, while MacArthur is ranked 106th). As for Bloomington, they will head out on the road to face off against Glenwood at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
