The Harrison Panthers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 win over Sand Creek. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Harrison has scored all season.
It was another big night for Kenneth Jones jr, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Gulong Craft, who scored four points.
Sand Creek's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wuol Chak, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Hill, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Sand Creek struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Harrison racked up 11 assists.
Harrison's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Sand Creek, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison will challenge the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Mesa Ridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Sand Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
