This season hasn't been kind to the Fruitdale Pirates, who are still winless after their 12th contest. They were the victim of a tough 62-36 loss at the hands of Bayshore Christian on Tuesday. Fruitdale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-10.
Despite the loss, Fruitdale still got an impressive performance from Deion Taylor, who scored 25 points. Taylor scored a full 69.4% of Fruitdale's points, the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Fruitdale bumped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bayshore Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fruitdale will take on Leroy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Leroy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Bayshore Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McIntosh at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. McIntosh has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 391 points over their last six games.
