The South Davidson Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Thomasville on the road and fell 68-35. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Davidson in their matchups with Thomasville: they've now lost nine in a row.
South Davidson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Davis, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Delattre, who scored 12 points.
Thomasville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryce McCoy led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. McCoy hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Michael Hannah was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and seven steals.
South Davidson dropped their record down to 3-18 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Thomasville, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
South Davidson will head out on the road to square off against East Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Davidson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50 points per game this season. As for Thomasville, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against College Prep & Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. Thomasville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
