The Omaha Northwest Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellevue East. Omaha Northwest has not had much luck with Bellevue East recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Omaha Northwest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dontae McDowell, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McDowell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Crawford, who scored 11 points.
Trey Tolbert was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points for Bellevue East. That makes it four consecutive games in which Tolbert has scored at least 25% of Bellevue East's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ammi Williams, who scored ten points.
Omaha Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Bellevue East, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Omaha Northwest will be home for the holidays to greet Omaha Westside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Omaha Westside is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Bellevue East, they will head out on the road to face off against Papillion-LaVista at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Papillion-LaVista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
