It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Chiefland Indians can now relate to. They were beaten by the Wildcats 72-18 on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chiefland has scored all season.
Chiefland's loss came despite strong showings from Brianna Bell and Riley Davies. Bell scored five points along with three steals, while Davies scored six points along with two steals. Bell is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season.
Trinidy Harris continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wildwood, scoring 18 points along with seven steals. Harris has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaria Weaver, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals.
Chiefland now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Wildwood, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Chiefland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wildwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Trenton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Wildwood is ranked 25th).
