The Warren Central Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Todd County Central Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warren Central hasn't scored more than a single run for six games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
Monday just wasn't the day for Warren Central's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Allen County-Scottsville on Monday.
Justin Alvarez-Bell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits.
At the plate, Warren Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yordanis Enriquez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Enriquez has snagged this season.
Meanwhile, Todd County Central scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 15-10 to Jo Byrns.
Todd County Central handed starting duties to Noah Rager, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Rager has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Todd County Central got a massive performance out of Lane Thomas, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Waylon Lanier, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Warren Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Todd County Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Warren Central might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Todd County Central when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
