Bear Creek proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Kennedy Cougars 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Bear Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brianna Kelly led the charge by getting ten digs and two aces. Olivia Hafoka was another key player, getting nine digs and three assists.

Bear Creek's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Kennedy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

Coincidentally, Bear Creek and Kennedy will both be playing Benicia the next time they take the court. The Bruins will head out to face the Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
