After flying high against the Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate last Monday, the Sports Leadership & Management Bulls came back down to earth. Sports Leadership & Management fell 55-44 to The Meadows School on Thursday. Sports Leadership & Management was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as The Meadows School apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Sports Leadership & Management lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tavara Swonger, who scored ten points along with five steals. Swonger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dennise Fleming, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
The Meadows School got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tessa Lalanne out in front who scored 18 points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Lalanne posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Alexa Carambas, who scored 12 points.
Sports Leadership & Management's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for The Meadows School, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas the next time they take the court. The Meadows School will head out to face Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Sports Leadership & Management will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
