After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Belleville, the Franklin Patriots were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took down Churchill 64-48. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Churchill is ranked 656th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Mitch Cronyn, who scored 24 points along with three steals. Owen Pittenger was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Churchill, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin will take on Glenn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Churchill, they will be playing at home against Fordson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
