Canyon View is a perfect 5-0 against Delta since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Rabbits at 3:30 p.m. Canyon View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
Canyon View barely beat Juab the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons put the hurt on the Wasps with a sharp 16-7 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Maisy Brady made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Sadie Sams was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Addi Rushton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Canyon View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Wayne typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Delta proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Badgers by a score of 10-7. The victory was nothing new for the Rabbits as they're now sitting on three straight.
The team relied heavily on Fallon Johnson, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elcie Shurtz, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Canyon View's record now sits at 12-7. As for Delta, their record is now 10-11.
Canyon View's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Falcons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Delta, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Canyon View continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Canyon View's way against Delta when the teams last played back in March, as Canyon View made off with a 14-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
