The Timnath Cubs were the 67-58 winner over the Loveland Classical Lions when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Timnath fell 46-38 to Loveland Classical on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Timnath can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Loveland Classical is ranked 80th).
Timnath's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Max Roselle, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, and Luke Jacobson who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roselle has scored all season.
Loveland Classical got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caedon Meyer out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Luke Sainz was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Timnath's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Loveland Classical, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timnath will take on Brush at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Brush focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Wednesday. As for Loveland Classical, they will play host again and welcome Front Range Baptist, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
