Basketball Recap: Jason Eighmey and Aedan Allison Secure Win for Madison

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountain Heritage, Madison was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Owen Warhorses by a score of 67-60. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warhorses, too.

Madison was led to victory by Aedan Allison and Jason Eighmey. Allison went 6 of 7 en route to 22 points, while Eighmey dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. What's more, Eighmey also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Gavin Gault was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.

Owen's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asante Martin, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Martin is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Wesley Burk, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 22 points and six boards.

Madison's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Owen, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Madison has already played their next matchup, a 64-61 win against Mitchell on the 21st. As for Owen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 95-74 victory against Draughn on the 21st.
