The Marco Island Academy Rays's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 81-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seacrest Country Day. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marco Island Academy in their matchups with Seacrest Country Day: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the defeat, Marco Island Academy saw an underclassman step up: Nick Sadler scored 25 points along with 6 steals. Sadler has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Jones, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Marco Island Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Seacrest Country Day, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marco Island Academy will square off against Everglades City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seacrest Country Day's road trip will continue as they head out to face Imagine School at North Port at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th.
