The Moffat County Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 65 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Peak to Peak. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (63), Moffat County still had to take the loss.
Defeat or not, Moffat County got some senior leadership from Ian Champ hafey who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds and Bryant Carlson who scored 20 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Champ hafey set a new season high mark in points with 23. Another player making a difference was Hudson Jones, who scored ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Peak to Peak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Boonstra, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The contest was Boonstra's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Eschmeyer, who scored 17 points.
Moffat County now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Peak to Peak, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Moffat County will be home for the holidays to greet Middle Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Peak to Peak is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Eaton. Hopefully Eaton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday.
