The Cahokia Comanches suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Carbondale 67-36. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cahokia in their matchups with Carbondale: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Cahokia saw an underclassman step up: C'narri Griffin scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Griffin pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Donald Collier, who scored six points.
Cahokia's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-15. As for Carbondale, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.
Cahokia's road trip will continue as they head out to face Columbia at 3:30 p.m. on January 13th. Columbia is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games. As for Carbondale, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Nashville at 4:30 p.m.
