After flying high against the Tina-Avalon Dragons on Tuesday, the Braymer Bobcats came back down to earth. Braymer suffered a rough 72-51 defeat at the hands of Brunswick on Friday. Braymer lost against Brunswick in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-56 score last time.
Braymer's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaden Stone, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Haley, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Braymer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Brunswick, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Braymer will take on Grundy County/Newtown-Harris in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at. As for Brunswick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Breckenridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Breckenridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Brunswick is ranked 138th).
