After each having a week off, the Kennedy Eagles and the Crosby Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kennedy has five straight victories, Crosby has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Kennedy strolled past St. Paul Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 29-12.
Meanwhile, Crosby pushed their score all the way to 36 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waterbury Career Academy. Crosby has struggled against Waterbury Career Academy recently, as their matchup two weeks ago was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jireh Rawlison, who picked up 137 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rawlison's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.
Kennedy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Crosby, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Kennedy couldn't quite finish off Crosby when the teams last played back in November of 2022 and fell 8-6. Can Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
