Basketball Recap: Maconaquah Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Maconaquah extended their road winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Josiah Ball. The Maconaquah Braves walked away with a 61-54 win over the Northfield Norsemen on Tuesday thanks to Ball, who went 10-for-16 on his way to 28 points and eight rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least 17 points.

Another player making a difference was Fuddy Kile, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Northfield lost, don't look at Tyson Baer. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-10 en route to 16 points and five boards. That's the most points Baer has posted since back in March of 2024. Carter Rodgers was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Maconaquah's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Northfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Maconaquah will face off against Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Manchester knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Maconaquah likes a good challenge. As for Northfield, it'll be Northside v. Southside when they and Southwood meet at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
