The North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hillside. While losing is never fun, North Raleigh Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Hillside is ranked 117th).
Hillside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samiyah Barker led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Barker pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Malone, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
North Raleigh Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Hillside, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
North Raleigh Christian Academy is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Jordan at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. Hillside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern Durham at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th.
