Fort Collins posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Brighton out 2-0. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Fort Collins has scored all season.
Loveland suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Horizon 74-20. Loveland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.
Despite the loss, Loveland saw an underclassman step up: Courtlyn Yaussi scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals. Yaussi hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Fort Collins has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Loveland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
Everything went Fort Collins' way against Loveland in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as Fort Collins made off with a 46-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Collins since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
