The Sulphur Bulldogs won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 72-48 defeat at the hands of Casady. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Sulphur came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Casady is ranked 474th).
Leading Casady to victory were Kaden Leache and Bryson Buckingham. Leache scored 21 points along with four steals, while Buckingham scored 29 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Buckingham has scored all season. Payton Mitchell-johnson was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Sulphur now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Casady, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sulphur will take on Madill at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Casady, they will be playing at home against Bethany at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
