The Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the victim of a tough 71-48 loss at the hands of Cocoa Beach. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy in their matchups with Cocoa Beach: they've now lost three in a row.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Erick Singleton, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Singleton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Thomas Tegland, who scored 11 points.
Cocoa Beach was led to victory by Jayesiah Carr and Jay Matthews. Carr scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Matthews scored 16 points along with seven steals. Matthews is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Lukas Stevens was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Cocoa Beach, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy will take on Brevard Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Brevard Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cocoa Beach, Cocoa Beach and Vero Beach will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Vero Beach is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.6 points per game.
