Apex Friendship skirted past Willow Spring 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Willow Spring saw an underclassman step up: Xavion Terrell scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Terrell scored a full 35% of Willow Spring's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Mendzef, who scored 12 points.
Apex Friendship's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Willow Spring, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Apex Friendship will be playing at home against East Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Willow Spring, they will head out on the road to face off against Fuquay - Varina at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fuquay - Varina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
