Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 19 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings, but was stunned by
North Gwinnett (Suwanee, Ga.), 28-10. North Gwinnett was ranked No. 107 nationally and No. 4 in the Freeman Rankings for Georgia coming into the week.
The Bulldogs were up 9-3 at the half after taking the lead on a field goal by
Michael D'angola in the first quarter.
North Gwinnett expanded its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. NG scored three times in the third, including once on a field goal.
The Rams'
Alex Louthan played well. The senior kicked one field goal and one extra point.
Russell King stood out for the Suwanee school in the win. The junior wide receiver kicked one field goal. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Grayson's lone touchdown came on a 41-yard pass in the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs went into the matchup giving up only 17.9 points per game.
In its next matchup North Gwinnett (11-1) will take on Grayson in a playoff game. The Rams go into the week with a record of 10-1.
