On Saturday, Taylor County was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Community Leadership Academy.
Despite the loss, Taylor County still got an impressive performance from Jakari Jackson, who scored 18 points along with six assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Jackson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Allen Collier, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Community Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Brown, who scored 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Community Leadership Academy's points. TJ Adams was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Taylor County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Community Leadership Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season.
Taylor County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. As for Community Leadership Academy, they will be playing at home against Jefferson County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson County is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
