Mallory Geving made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Fife let Kaitlin Christiansen and Mallory Robson run wild. Christiansen scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Robson went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Ashlynn Monroe was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Fife hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White River struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Auburn Riverside took on Federal Way on Tuesday. Auburn Riverside was the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Federal Way.
Makenna Vircks looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Danica Butler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Satalich, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Fife came up short against Auburn Riverside in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 6-1. Can Fife avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
