The Trinity Prep Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Old Suwanee Christian, falling 52-25. While losing is never fun, Trinity Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while Old Suwanee Christian is ranked 236th).
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anna Dunagan, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Zavala, who scored six points.
Trinity Prep dropped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.7 points per game. As for Old Suwanee Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Trinity Prep will face off against Academe of the Oaks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Old Suwanee Christian, they will take on Peoples Baptist Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Peoples Baptist Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
