The Durant Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Lennard Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lennard took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Durant, who comes in off a win.
Durant took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sumner as Durant made off with a 10-0 win. The contest marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Owen Franklin tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Durant is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Aiden Juntilla was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Dylan Karnowski, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lennard and Bloomingdale meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Lennard lost 10-1 to Bloomingdale.
Lennard saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Nobrega, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Lennard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Durant, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Durant has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lennard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Durant's way against Lennard in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Durant made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Durant since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
