It was a good run, but the Boerne Greyhounds unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Davenport by a score of 2-1. Boerne was red-hot offensively headed into the contest (they scored no less than four goals in the four matches prior) but Davenport's defense proved too tough.
Boerne's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-1-1. As for Davenport, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Boerne will head out on the road to face off against Bandera at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bandera is on a three-game streak of home wins, Boerne a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch. Davenport will take on Wimberley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Davenport is ranked 141st, while Wimberley is ranked 149th).
