The Timberline Blazers won the last time they faced the Stadium Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Timberline took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 73-31 victory over Stadium. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-18.
Timberline's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brandi Stanford led the charge by scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Sierra Cordis was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mya Penswick, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaci Graise, who scored eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for Timberline and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Stadium, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-1.
Timberline will take on River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. River Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Timberline is ranked 12th). As for Stadium, they will head out on the road to face off against Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
