It was a good run, but the Canby Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 78-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Putnam. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (68), Canby still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Canby lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dallas Michel. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Michel has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Brauckmiller, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Canby's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Putnam, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
