The Tolleson Wolverines are taking a road trip to square off against the Basha Bears at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Tolleson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Tolleson's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past West Point 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to SERGIO GARCIA's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on OSCAR MOLINA, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. YADI LIZARRAGA was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Basha beat Sunnyslope 3-0 on Wednesday.
Not much got past Zach Bolles, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Sunnyslope off the board. Bolles also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Basha is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-11-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Alex Garrido was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Tolleson's record now sits at 14-11. As for Basha, their record is now 11-12-1.
Everything went Tolleson's way against Basha in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Tolleson made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
