Whitman is 8-0 against Wheaton since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Whitman Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Wheaton Knights at 7:15 p.m. Whitman will be strutting in after a victory while Wheaton will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, everything went Whitman's way against Northwood as Whitman made off with a 72-49 victory. With that victory, Whitman brought their scoring average up to 60 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whitman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sean Curran, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Walsh, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 19 points and 2 assists.
Meanwhile, Wheaton came up short against Northwest on Tuesday and fell 46-34. Wheaton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The win got Whitman back to even at 1-1. As for Wheaton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Whitman's way against Wheaton when the teams last played back in February as Whitman made off with a 86-60 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
