Kennedy (Mound Bayou, Miss.) saw its 10-point lead shrink to two, but hung on to beat
Shaw (Miss.) 22-20 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a two-point conversion in the second quarter, the Hornets were up 8-6 at the half.
Kennedy expanded its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. KHS scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Xavier Roberts.
Shaw (2-4) goes up against Brooks in a 1A Region 2 game matchup next week, while Kennedy (3-2) locks horns with St. Aloysius also in a 1A Region 2 game.
