The North Wake S Saints entered their tilt with the Wake Prep Academy Guardians with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. North Wake S blew past Wake Prep Academy, posting a 55-0 victory at home. Considering North Wake S has won six matchups by more than 33 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
North Wake S had a senior duo take command as Jordan Reid rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries and Sema'J Davis rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown. Davis' longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards. Another big playmaker for North Wake S was James Ferguson, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was North Wake S's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 12 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Avery Hall and Connor Burton who racked up nine sacks between them.
North Wake S's victory was their fourth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Sandhills T and 2-6 Wake Prep Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 23.7% over those games). As for Wake Prep Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
North Wake S will head out on the road to face off against Sandhills T at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sandhills T comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Wake Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
