Handley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Liberty Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Saturday, Handley blew past Warren County, posting a 48-7 win at home. Given Handley's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Warren County is ranked 235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Liberty's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They took down Skyline 33-19.
Liberty can attribute much of their success to Austin Mawyer, who rushed for 105 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Handley to 4-3 and Liberty to 4-4.
Handley skirted past Liberty 46-43 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Handley repeat their success, or does Liberty have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
