Marathon got themselves on the board against Newman on Thursday, but Newman never followed suit. They blew past the Fighting Cardinals 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Marathon, bringing their record up to 10-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Newman, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Marathon has already played their next contest, a 7-2 win against Phillips on the 16th. Newman has also already played their next game (against Prentice), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
